Most of our clients begin their relationship with us by seeking a custom garden design for their outdoor space. Whether you’ve inherited a rooftop garden, terrace garden, or backyard garden that’s a blank canvas, or you’re looking to renovate an existing garden, our process always starts with a thoughtful, in-person consultation.
During this initial meeting, we discuss your vision, lifestyle, and goals for the space, allowing us to create a bespoke landscape design tailored to your needs. From there, we develop a detailed 3D garden design model that brings the proposed garden to life and clearly illustrates our shared vision. Once the final garden design is approved, we provide a comprehensive proposal outlining all project costs and timelines. After that, we schedule installation and transform the design into a fully realized outdoor garden space you can enjoy for years to come.
We specialize in New York City gardens and are fully insured to meet even the most stringent building requirements for rooftop gardens, terraces, and residential outdoor spaces throughout NYC.
Maintenance
Every garden we plant is the beginning of a long-term relationship. We provide ongoing garden maintenance services to ensure your garden continues to mature, thrive, and evolve beautifully for years to come. For new clients with an existing garden, we’re happy to take over maintenance and either care for the garden as it is or thoughtfully refresh and revitalize the garden design, gradually developing a new look over time.
We offer flexible seasonal garden maintenance options to suit different needs and schedules. Maintenance contracts are available for weekly, biweekly, or monthly garden visits, ideal for clients who want consistent care with a set day and time throughout the growing season. For clients who prefer more occasional support, we also offer as-needed garden maintenance visits, billed by the hour.
For clients in the suburbs, we work seamlessly alongside your existing landscaping service. Many homeowners already have a crew that handles lawn mowing & care. Our role focuses on fine gardening for designated areas and plantings that require a higher level of horticultural expertise and attention to detail.
Harlem Horticulture is based in Manhattan. We work throughout New York City as well as Westchester County, Fairfield County [Greenwich & Stamford, Connecticut], and Long Island.
